Hi,
I have 4065 6½-Digit DMM card. I gothrough that DMM manual and I find out that 6½-Digit meant by Resolution of the Multimeter.
Could you please give me the clear definition of the 6½-Digit? In our Daq card we are mentioning the resolution as a 16bit. Why we are telling ½-Digit in DMM.?
Thanks

That has been how resolution of a DMM has been specified since, well, the digital multimeter has been around. A google search for 'DMM resolution' turned up this Wikepedia article as the first listed.

Hi SIVA,
We do have additional content that would help you compare digits of resolution and bits, since there is a conversion to move between one and the other. The digits of resolution has been a standard way of specifying the resolution of a DMM as Dennis mentioned above.

I am using DMM PCI 4065 to measure the resistance. I need to measure the resistance of an open circuit which should ideally have infinite value.
My lower limit is 1 Megaohm. But how do I specify the upper limit as the value is infinite? I need to ensure the value lies between my lower and upper limit.
Is there any method where I can compare the infinite resistance?
Thanks
