6533 card; read a finite sequence of 8-bit data?

How can I use a 6533 card to read a finite sequence of 8-bit data? I have tried all the various 6533 example scripts but they do not seem to allow this; they either read continously or read one word. I want to use the internal clock in the card. I'd like to read 64 words per microsec, and I want to read 64 sets in a row of these 64 wds. It would be fine to read these as a single 64x64 sequence of words, into a 64x64 array that is to be plotted as a spectrogram.

Which specific examples have you tried? The likely candidate to modify would be the one that allows you to read one word.  Also, what environment are you using to develop your application?
