Hi to all

I would like say if someone know the Ni-8451 interface.

Is the internal chip an Ft2232 from FTDI?

thanks in advance.

Hello Mikanu,

I've looked at the Bill Of Material for the 8451 and I didn't find the FTDI FT 2232 chip, so I guess the board does not use that chip.

Hi

thanks for the answer.

Infact some  times ago , I have had download the apllication exe for the Ni-8451 but dosen't work

with my personal board that I have developed with FT2232D of FTDI.

My real problem is that this chip seems to not to work with thefollowing configuration:

Cpol=0 and CPHA=1

Cpol=1 and CPHA=0

It works only in Cpol=1 and CPHA=1 and Cpol=0 and CPHA=0

I tried to write an e-mail to FTDI forum but I haven't received any answer until today.

They have developed some labview driver that work with ftdi.dll but don't work with my configuration.

Do you have some possibility to help me about this questions?

Many thanks

OK I've looked ad the driver on FTDI website.

When you say that it's not working with your configuration what do you mean? It doesn't work with Cpol=0 and CPHA=1 and Cpol=1 and CPHA=0?

If this is the case I guess you need to contact FTDI because I don't think is something related to National Instruments.

If you didn't do it already, take a look at the NI-845x Software User Manual  for informations about configuration.

Hi

Thanks again for you support. interface?

Please could you give me some information about Ni-8451 interface?

The ni-8451 is working in the four   CPOL and CPHA combination?

The question means :

Cpol=0  CPHA= 0

Cpol=0  CPHA= 1

Cpol=1  CPHA= 0

Cpol=1  CPHA= 1

Do you confirm?

We are thinking to buy and evaluate this interface to program an our IC that working in SPI mode.

Hello Nunzio,

you can take a look at this document that explai how the USB 8451 works with LabVIEW. You can see from the document that all the four combination are supported.

Hope you'll find these infos useful.
