Acquiring waveform at pulse time

Hello,

I am currently looking for a way to acquire a waveform using a TDS 3034B oscilloscope at a pulse provided by an 8110A pulse generator.  I understand that I must use a "trigger" in some way, but I am not sure what to do in order to detect the pulse.  Using a "Generating Cont Pulses" driver provided, it appears that "Trigger-out marks each pulse-period", but I am unaware how to obtain that trigger, and use it.

Look in the tek driver for a function to configure the edge trigger. I have an old version of the driver and there you can set the trigger source, level, and slope. You would want the source to be external and wire your pulse generator to the input marked external on the scope.

You might also want to study the scope manual to get an understanding of external triggers.
