Activation code

We had purchased LabVIEW 8.2 in 2006 , and I tried to install it using the activation code .The previous PC we used for this software is not available now. I tried to install LABVIEW in a new PC with a WINDOWS XP OS. During the activation process, an error appeared stating that the specified activation code does not match the product or this computer ID does not match this system. I have attached a screenshot of the error message for your reference.

Kindly guide me on how to proceed. Please provide further information or updated activation instructions to resolve this issue. Looking forward to your support..

Activation code is different for different PC (because based on ID, which is hardware-dependent).

Just create new one using the following link: https://www.ni.com/my/s/support/offline-activation. You must have the serial number and new PC ID (from license manager) in your hands.

Computer + License ==> Activation code, so you can't use it on another computer, you need to generate a new one (as already posted)

Hi

I have first hand experience that the Computer ID can change if the License Manager is updated. In my case from 3.7 to 4.7. No problem as such. Everything activated was still activated on the computer. But the Computer ID had changed.

This behavior will be a problem when trying to use the Activation Code later on, unless your make a sidecar record, what License Manager version was used when NI issued that Computer ID and mailed it to you when you activated something later on.

Please notice that we are talking about 'pretty old stuff'. Version 3.7 was released in 2012 or so.

LV 8.2 is much older than that ..

Regards

The computer ID can also change if you change certain hardware components as it is some sort of hash of various computer characteristics.
