Active X Controls. How do I use them?

I am trying to run a program using active x controls and perform operations automatically. I can't seem to find the rightkind of example to get me started.

It would help if you would mention what ActiveX controls you are trying to use and what kind of operations you are trying to perform with them. There are several examples of using some ActiveX controls in the shipping examples. Look under Communicationg with External Applications>ActiveX>General for examples with a 3D graph control and a Treeview control. Basically, what you have to do is put a container on the front panel, select the ActiveX control you want and then use the control's properties and methods as you see fit.

Hi,

Anything specific? I can send you info for the Treeview, Listview, Tooltip,
Browser, Date and Time picker, RTF, Adobe and Calander control...

It's not difficult, if you tell us a specific problem we should be able to
guide you through the process.

Regards,

Wiebe.

I learnt to use ActiveX in my application straight from the NI site:

http://zone.ni.com/devzone/devzone.nsf/webcategories/46E7994B7483D781862567C300662667?opendocument&node=DZ52051_US

Add an Automation Refnum from the ActiceX pallette on the front panel.
Right click it and select your class (it might need to be registered
with regsrv32 if you can't find it).

Now on the diagram go Communication >> ActiveX and wire up an Open
Automation. From the same pallette wire up an Invoke Node to
access
methods and Property Node to access properties. Use Close Automation
when your finished and that's more or less it (as far as I am
concerned, anyway!).

Hope this helps,

Adrian.
