Advanced Bluetooth

Hello All,

I am finding the NI LabVIEW (desktop & PDA), Bluetooth support quite limited.

Has anybody sucessfully used third party dll's to perform functions such as paring devices (without breaking out of the LV application and into the OS BT functions)?

I have found an ActiveX solution but that will not work on the PDA!

Hi,

I see what your attempting to do, being able to do this via LabVIEW is currently not available but it has been put forward as a product suggestion, and as PDA does not support ActiveX as you've found that rules that idea out. I'm not aware of anyway to do this via DLL's however I will have a hunt around for you to see if this is possible.

do you publish anywhere features that may be included in the next version?

It would be nice to know if it is being looked into as a possible enhancement in the next version.

My personal opinion is that is is a deficiency to offer BT without the ability to pair.

Hi,

Sadly I don't believe the suggestions are publicly available, however I can assure you it's been placed forward. I'm afraid that even then the status of when it's due isn't released to us either - I agree pairing is a major part of bluetooth so I'm hopefull this is something they are looking at implementing in the very near future.

Anyone at NI able to provide a progress report on this? Is it likely to feature in a version of LV anytime soon?
