Analog Input Magnitude to Show on Front Panel Numeric Indicator

I am reading an analog input signal channel with multiple samples, and I want the magnitude of what is being read to be displayed on a numeric indicator that is on my Front Panel.  I know it is not possible to just wire the waveform data directly to a numeric indicator because of the difference in data type.  Does anyone have an ideal on how I can go around this?
