Animated GIF files

Can I use animated Gif files in LabView. How?

One option is getting an activeX control for that, there are some available on the net, and use an OLE container to display it.

I decided to revive this old thread.  Have you seen the animated image option for front panels.  Don't know how this impacts vi performance but it can be used to dazzle those VP's:)  And revive some of those old animated gif's out there.  I guess the next step is flash support.  SS

Simply drag the GIF file to the panel or diagram from Windows explorer.  It should display an animate.

gif's are CPU hogs.

How about flash swf's are they hogs too?  Nothing wrong with a little eyecandy while your application is sitting idle...wonder if you can programatically disable this option while your application is running?  SS
