Are there Labview drivers for the Agilent E4440A phase noise option?

I am trying to write a program with Labview that utilizes the Phase Noise option available with Agilent E4440A spectrum analyzer. I can't seem to find any drivers that support this option. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Jayh,

I understand you're looking for some drivers.

All of our drivers can be found at the Instrument Driver Network (IDNet Page).

I have had a quick search for the E4440A drivers and have located them here.  Although I am not familiar with that particular instrument, having downloaded the driver set, it does include a number of VIs that can utilize the Phase Noise option within LabVIEW as you require.

I hope that answers your query.  If there is anything else I can assist you with regarding this, please don't hesitate to post.

Hi,

Thanks for your prompt reply. Could you tell me what drivers you looked at? I downloaded the drivers for Labview 2009, since that's what I have. I've been through every Vi and didn't see any that were related to phase noise. Thanks fpor your time.

Sure there are some VIs for phase noise measurement. If you downloaded the good driver for the E4440A (that is Agilent ESA PSA Series go to configure and then phase noise.

Note that most of the time the drivers only perform the most common tasks. When you don't find exactly what you want you have to use the VISA functions and refer to the equipment programming manual for the proper command syntax (and get familiar with the SCPI language). The following link will get you to the document page for the E4440A.

Ben,

Thanks for your help. Do you have a link to the labview driver? I have downloaded a few, but none have the phase noise option. Thanks.

Go to the front panel or block diagram HELP menu, select Find Instrument Drivers... In the manufacturer drop down list select Agilent Technologies and in Additional Keywords type E4440A. Prees Search -> and select the driver for your LabVIEW version. Press install and it will install the driver in the instr.lib folder.

Hi,

Sorry for the delayed reply.

Ben64 is quite correct with his reply.  The link to the website to download from is here if you still require it.  The drivers will work with LabVIEW 2009 do contain the Phase Noise options.

Hopefully that helps.

Again, let me know if there's anything else I can assist with.

Hi jayh,

Have you complete your phase noise measurement with Agilent E4440A Spectrum Analyzer? I also want to measure the phase noise with E4440A, and I use the driver downloaded from the instrument driver network, but it can not work.

Can you provide your program to me?

Thank you!
