As a follow up to one of my later question, I've been able to use scripting to change the representation of a control dynamically.  This is done when the numeric control (and the VI it's within) is in edit mode.  The section of code I have highlighted is what I added to the example above.  I have attached the VI as well.  (VI filename does not match the filename in the image... sorry!)
