Hi, I’m a French student in Instrumentation and Measurements and I must program with LabView 2013 for controlling the Tektronix TDS 1002B. We use a GPIB connection and a Tektronix TEK-USB-488.

I downloaded TDS 1000 series drivers.

I’m novice with this software and I need some help.

When I try to control this oscilloscope with LabView’s examples, it doesn’t work.

I got the error “The session handle is not valid”.

I haven’t find any answer to this problem.

If anybody could help me to solve this problem, I would be grateful.

Thank you.

Did you configure it in MAX? Did you select the session from the drop down menu or did you type it in? Why are you using the IVI driver? Did you try using the LabVIEW driver?

Yes I configured it in MAX, (Screenshot)

I selected the session from the drop down menu.

I am using the Plug and Play instrument drivers. (Screenshot)

Thank you for your help.

The error message said you are using the IVI driver, not the LabVIEW project style and you have not configured an IVI session in MAX. If your palette shows an Initialize with Options function, that means an IVI driver.

Any driver that you installed through LabVIEW and Help> Find Instrument Drivers do come from ni.com so your comment doors not make much sense.
