Did you mean:

BIN file to ASCII file

This has solved my problem. The reason for converting to binary is unknown, it just needed to be. I questioned this also. Thanks again. I think I am on the right path

I would also like a converter VI from .BIN to .ASCII or any simple file format I can open in Matlab for that matter. If anyone has anything I can use for this it would be very much apprechiated.

My email is l.e.brooks@cranfield.ac.uk

Thanks 🙂

Is your question in any way related to your other post: http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=170&message.id=289024#M289024?

You should know that there is no universal binary format with an extension "*.bin". For any binary format, you need to know the exact data structure in oder to read it.

Indeed it is 🙂 my supervisor mentioned if I could convert the .bin file into a ASCII file then I could work it in matlab but by the sound of it thats something easier said than done 🙂

Mark,

I am very interested in that VI also. Could you send that to me?

Thanks,

Hi Guillermo,

you're asking for a vi in a (more than) 7 year old thread? For a vi that someone else has been asking for too 3 years ago?

Good luck!

Best regards,
GerdW
