Hi,

I was wondering if the BNC-2090A comes with the DAQ board protection circuitry built in or whether this has to be put in by the user?

From the factory no, the BNC-2090A does not.  However, if you view section 3 of the User Manual.  You will notice there is a jumper set to 0 ohms, you can change this and add a voltage divider.  In answer to your questions yes,  but ultimately this is the responsibility of the end user.
