After I installed LabVIEW 2011, I would like to install LabVIEW 8.5. When I install 8.5, some components will not installed, especially components relating to FPGA. It will not even let you choose to install or not. How do I get around that? Thanks! The following folders are having problems
vi.lib\LabVIEW Targets\FPGA\RIO
vi.lib\FPGAPlugInAG\

Hello jyang,
Unfortunately, there are no versions of NI-RIO that are compatible with both LabVIEW 2011 and LabVIEW 8.5 (see http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/577cc9a7dcfc73df8625738400116cc3?OpenDocument). Therefore you cannot do LabVIEW FPGA development in both LabVIEW 2011 and LabVIEW 8.5 on the same computer.
You might look into using virtual machines if you need a LabVIEW 8.5 version for testing purposes. Alternately you could set up a hard drive partition with different versions of windows in each portion. You could also set up a second computer for LabVIEW 8.5 and remote into it when you need to develop in 8.5.
