Bad data displayed in Server explorer

When I use the Server explore to monitor the data, I found it just displayed " quality bad value", data "xxx", the connection was there, and the lookout Procotol Driver told me that "Modbus exception response 2 (illegal data address)" so how can fix this problem? I am using NI RS485 to connect to a Dynisco upr 700 instrumnet, which has a modbus communication procotol. I can use a software modscan32 from win-tech to read the right information. Please give me any suggestion. Thanks!

You may want to check the address you've specified for your instrument in the Modbus Object. The exception response 2 means (from the Modbus standard): "The data address received in the query is not an allowable address for the slave."

As long as you have a comm alarm in the Lookout Protocol Driver, your Server Explorer will give bad data.

Sorry for not being of much help.

Regards,

Khalid
