Butterworth filtering of simulated signals

Hello all!

I was trying to generate and sum two signals of different frequencies, and then I wanted to filter the high frequency signal and obtain as a result the low frequency one.

The .vi I developed is attached below, and my main questions are:

1) What is the value of sampling frequency I should use in the filter, seeing that my signals were not acquired but generated?

2) The values I use for frequencies in the butterworth filter .vi, should be in Hz, right? I'm asking this because the "Help" file is refering to 0.125 and values in that "range".

3) I used 250000 for the sampling frequency and 1 and 300000 (Hz) for the high cut-off frequency and the result is exactly the same. Why does this happens?

Thanks in advance! Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Best regards!

Hello again!

I already searched for an answer here in the forum, but I didn't succeed.

Can't anybody help me on this? 😞 I believe these are simple questions...
