Calculation for tank level transmitter?

I am using Vegaflex level transmiiter 61, its range is 0.15 to 32m and I am using DAQ 6251 with voltage ouput as 1 to 5V

I calculated the linear equation as y=7.96x + 7.8125

When I check the volatage while carrying out the measurement the voltage is 2V in multimeter and same in the VI I made.

But when I calculate the level of tank it is 0.689..m in the VI as per the above logic but in the sensor , the value is 0.9m.

Also the tank I am using its maximum level limit is 1.5m only.

What can be the reason for the different result?

The linear equation should be y=7.9625x - 7.8125.  Minus, not plus.

sorry thats mt typing mistake in the forum.

But I am just thinking.

Is the sensor linear or not?

Please see the manual attached I am using Vegaflex 61 cable type

http://www.vega.com/downloads/PI/EN/29657-EN.PDF

Please suggest ..also the tank max limit is 150m

Some Questions:

The sensor has an current output 4-20mA. To get a Voltage signal at your DAQ you probably use a resistor ... What value(, TC?, actual value?) ?

The sensor needs to be configured. How is the setup for the output? If the lower End is off 0.6% you have your offset.

Your reported error is 0.6% .. could be the current to voltage converting resistor, a bad sensor setup...  too bad my crystal ball is in recalibration Smiley Wink
