Caller ID from Modem

I am programming a Lucent WinModem in LabVIEW 5.1. I can set the Caller ID mode by senting AT+VCID=1, but how do I retrieve the Caller ID information when a call comes in?

When there is an incoming call, the modem sends the string "RING". The caller ID is sent between the first and seconf "RING".

I don't see anything between RINGs. I get the same behavior whether the Caller ID mode is set to 0, 1, or 2. Any ideas as to possible causes?

Is the Caller ID function enabled on your phone line?
Sorry, I can't help you more than that.

Jean-Pierre,
To answer to your question, Caller ID is enabled on my phone line and works with a couple of telephones and a Verizon Caller ID box. I found a statement on a web site that although a modem may respond correctly to the Caller ID mode command, it still may not actually have the necessary circuitry installed. The same web site phrased it another way: "A modem may not know whether it has Caller ID or not." I think this is probably the case with the modem I tried first. I tried the modems in two of my other PC's and they also do not support Caller ID. It looks like I will have to buy another modem to get Caller ID support. Thanks for your help.
