An exe built with 8.2 will run with the 8.2 runtime engine. I have no idea what you mean by 8.6 environment.

Can exe built with 8.2 run with the 8.6 runtime engine or development environment?

All exe's require a matching runtime engine. You cannot mix and match.

If you do not have the LV8.2 Run-Time engine, it can be downloaded from this website.

Are you saying you can do it?  Did you just figure that out?  I'm not sure I understand what you are trying to do.

If you have an exe built with 8.2 and it runs, then you have the 8.2 runtime installed. Just look and see what runtimes you have. They are all listed in MAX.

Accepted by topic author alex.

When you installed LabVIEW, it probably installed run-time engines to support other versions as well.  As Dennis mentionned, check under software in MAX for a list all all run-time engines that are installed.  For instance I have a listing that includes LV6.1 although I have never installed that version on this PC.
