Can I communicate HP34970A with Labview 5.0

I want to control and communicate a data scanner (34970a) with my Labview for windows that I have been using for some time. From the NI website, I find a Labview driver for this instrument. In the driver's download page, I read that the minimum version of Labview that can use with the driver is 5.1.

The version of my Labview is 5.0.1, lower than the minimum version specified in the download page. Can I run the instrument drivers and communicate with the instrument successfully with my Labview 5.0.1 without upgrading it?

Please help.

I downloaded the 5.0 drivers a couple of years ago, and hope NI won't end giving them, but if you want, i can dig those drivers out for you, i know they're somewhere in my computer, as long as i worked with a HP34970A data logger some time ago.

Hi Gorka, it seems that I have the same problem - have downloaded the newest ni drivers for hp34970A data logger - but owning only a labview 5 software. Could you be so kind (again) sending me the "old" 5.0 drivers??? Thanx in advance: Holger
