Can I use anything other than Vision to aquire an image from a 1394 DCAM camera?

Hi there- I am trying to get images from a IEEE 1394 DCAM compliant camera that's linked to a manipulation stage for my microscope. I've already got the stage programmed and controlled through LabView 7.0, as well as most of the other bells and whistles I need. About the only thing I would like to be able to do is get an image from the camera and incorporate into the rest of my VI, which is controlling the stage position and taking other measurements. Is this possible to do with LabView, or am I supposed to buy an entire additional package? Thanks!

Here is some useful information:

https://www.ni.com/en/support/documentation/supplemental/06/acquiring-from-firewire--cameras-with-ni...

Looks like you are too late.  The use to sell it as an individual chunk of software but now is intergrated into Vision 8.0

The NI IMAQ for IEEE 1394 Cameras 2.0.2 driver is now part of the Vision Acquisition Software bundle. Please download it from the Vision Acquisition Software download page.

NOTE: All future releases of NI IMAQ and NI-IMAQ for IEEE 1394 Cameras will be bundled into Vision Acquisition Software releases.

On the positive side you may want to consider buying the additional Vision Builder Software.  You can do all sorts of neat stuff like counting cells or looking for items.  There is even capability to have vison control the motion.

You just may find it useful,

Thanks for the help.
I was hoping there was a way to just pull in the part that I need, since the rest of the system is already written.
I appreciate the help!
