Can't update enums in 7.1

I have 7.1.1, 8.0 and 8.2 installed and have a project written in 7.1 that I still need to work on. The target machine has 7.1 installed to help debug. Problem: since I started working on this project again on my office PC I cannot update enums or change properties in 7.1. I get the little hourglass for a few seconds, then a small black cross, then nothing. An associate has the same setup on his office PC but does not experience the same problem. The only difference between our two systems is that he does not have toolkits installed, and I do. Could this be related? And is there a fix without uninstalling toolkits? Anyone else have this problem? I really don't want to install 8.2 into the target machine.

Paul,

It sounds like something in LabVIEW 7.1 got corrupted.  Have you tried doing a repair on your 7.1 install yet?

Tried that. Just seemed to make it worse. Now, not only can I not edit my enums, my 7.1 shows up as "unregistered". Smiley Indifferent

Paul,

Have you tried doing a full uninstall/reinstall of 7.1?  That's probably the quickest way to resolve the issue (assuming it's just a corruption of some kind).

I think I'm just going to finish the project on the target machine in 7.1. I didn't want to do that. The target PC is a 'panel pc' and it is outside of the enclosure. The cooling fan is a little noisy and runs near the insanity-inducing frequency of the human brain. Smiley Surprised I'll just get it done faster ... or wear earplugs. Smiley Happy Thanks, everyone.
