Cannot get Labview to install!!

Hello there,

I am having trouble installing the latest 2022 version of labview. These errors have happened to me on two separate PCs.

Firstly, the installation will fail due to the below error. This has happened multiple times, with different packages being the problem.

An error occurred while installing a package: ni-labview-dett-core (22.3.0.49308-0+f156)
Additional error information:
An error occurred while installing the MSI at 'dett\dett.msi'. Error 1317. An error occurred
while attempting to create the directory: C:\Users\Public\Documents\National
Instruments\Desktop Execution Trace Toolkit Documentation

Secondly.. I decided to delete any NI files that had been downloaded / installed and start from scratch. Now, after I download the installer, I cant even open it, and instead get the error below.

Hopefully someone can help me - thanks!!

LabVIEW can be difficult to install!  It generally easier to uninstall, but only if you do it the "right way".  Deleting files before running the Uninstaller, or (worse) trying to "clean the Registry", will almost surely require you to back up all of your files, reformat the C: drive, reinstall Windows, reinstall all your other programs, and restore your files.  [It happened to me, twice, in 2017 when NIPM was introduced as the new "Installer"].
