Cannot load new camera attributes even through MAX

Hi,

I have IMAQ1428 connected to Perkin elmer's YD5060 linescan camera. I am trying to load new values of the camera attributes using IMAQcamera set attribute.vi in LabVIEW.
It doesn't load the camera with the new values, even though when i read the same camera attribute back, it does show the new value. Also, the .icd file, MAX shows the new value.
But, still when i capture an image, it gives me the image with old values.

Labview ver. 6.1
MAX ver. 4.0
IMAQ ver.  3.5.1

Please help.
Thanks,
Pallavi.

Hey Pallavi,

Are you able to change the attributes in MAX and then acquire images, and does this also not give you the correct image? How do you know that you are not getting the correct image? Have you tried changing the value of the attributes to some large number and the image looks the same? It sounds as if you are changing the attributes correctly and it also sounds like the attributes are getting saved and changed properly, but maybe your camera is not getting the serial command that the camera file is sending to it when you change the attribute. I looked at the camera file that you are using, and was wonding if you are using the Master or Slave exposure mode, and have you tried the other option. Last, you said that when you capture an image, it gives you an image with the old values, but I have to ask again how do you know it is an image with the old values? Do you perform another IMAQ Get Camera Attributes.VI after you acquire an image which shows the old values are now saved? Also, do the values get changed back to the default values or the values that were previously saved before? Try changing the values to extreme values and see if the attributes change back to their old values when you acquire. Maybe post some images that show the attributes that you are changing and the image that you are getting, before and after the values get changed.

I hope this helps. Please let us know how things go. Thanks, and have a great day.

Regards,
DJ L.
