Hello,

I tried activating my license using the NI product activation by inserting my computer ID.

When I enter my code to activate LabVIEW I get an activation error. (no further error description)

Does anybody know, what causes this problem?

I also tried to use the NI license manager 4.0, but I cannot login there either; I have the same error as I described in the first post.

I've had to use that solution a couple of times, but you must ofcourse use the target computer ID and it's very sensitive to the code/product combination. I had to redo it last time due to some miniscule error, like LV2014 instead of LV2014 f2 or something.

@Yamaeda:

I will repeat the process and check carefully to enter everything correctly.

Also I found out, that my college has the same problem like I have.

He is using the same network and firewall settings like I do.

However he was able to activate his product as he installed it and not afterwards. I will try to do the same if I can´t find an easier solution.

worst case get NI to generate you a key and do it offline? We did not have internet on ours for months, so they just emailed some keys.

I fixed the problem by reinstalling LabVIEW and activating my key in the installation mask.

So for everybody who has equal problems, try to de-install and complete a second installation.

You're right is was.  It was pretty devious in that they changed the URL of the hyperlink that was copied in the quoted part of the message.

Thanks for pointing out the link because it wasn't obvious.  The message has now been marked as spam and banished from the forums.
