Cant get custom scaling to work correctly on NI-6229 logger. Anyone help?

Solved!

I am using the NI-6229 data logger with LabVIEW Signal Express. I am having a problem with custom scaling of an input as follows:-

I am injecting a sine wave of 1Hz 1 volt p-p into the logger. It does not matter which channel the signal is fed into. When I click on RUN, I can see the sine wave on the PC display and all is OK. If I then add Custom Scaling and set a slope of 9900 and Y-Intercept set to 0, the sine wave is now clipped and looks like a square wave. Adjusting the slope to smaller values does not seem to improve things. Does anyone have any ideas on this please?

Thanks

Mike

Sounds like you need to change the "Signal Input Range" parameter on the channel input setup.  Initially, the values are the upper and lower limits of the voltage.  When the Custom Scaling increases the numeric value of the input, the Signal Input Range defines the upper and lower limit of the scaled value, therefore clipping the input.  Set the Max to 9900 and the Min to -9900.

Hi Michael,

due to other priorities this has slipped down the list which is why it's taken me so long to get back to you, but your answer solved my problem.

Thanks

Mike
