in the example finder if you do a search using descriptions instead of keywords it should be first on the list

Thanks, I found it.  I find it quite odd that the name is Envelope.vi and it is not found using the keywords.

Other really good examples detailing this capability are entitled 'Plot Images.vi' and 'Graph Plot Area Images.vi'.  As I transition to LabVIEW 8.2, I will likely be making considerable use of these, including as a substitution for doing draws with cursor lists....Don

in case you refer to the attached picture from last year: I'm sorry, this vi is not available for public...

It's a small part of a bigger application, using lots of globals and other (sub-)routines - so no chance to rip this off 😞
