Chart/Graph display(2D)about step-motor control with labview

hi,I am controlling a step motor(2D) to move a needle tip with Labview now.As I click the control buttom, the step motor will move for a designated step-size in X or Y direction.
Now, I hope to make a 2D Chart/graph to show(like a dot) the current position of my needle tip after each buttom-clicking.Initially, it is at (0,0) of course, then it will change to (dx,0),(2dx,0),(dx,dy) so on as I click the buttom, where dx,dy is step size.thank you very much

Hi,

you can use a 2D Intensity Chart, and programmatically move a cursor over the (empty) graph. In the graph properties, create a cursor. Then, in the program, use property nodes to change the x- and y-position of the cursor. I use 2 cursors, one one for the actual position, which the program moves, and one for the set position, which the user can move.

Excellent response, Matthias. I just thought I'd make one clarification on terminology. Cursors are available on any graph (be it Intensity, XY, or Waveform), but NOT on charts. I've also linked below a Knowledge Base on our website that explains the process of setting up a cursor programmatically:

Good luck, Seawolf, on setting things up!
