Command Line Arguments & Return/Echo

I am aware of how to pass command line arguments into a LabVIEW application but how can I return/echo information from an application?

The System Exec function has an output called Standard Output and one called Standard Error.  I suppose the Standard Output would contain any echo information.  Have you tried this?
