I just downloaded the Community version of Labview for home use. I have the full versions at work. I noticed that there are no hardware specific VI examples. I have an NI-6251 connected and NI-MAX sees it and does a self test but there are no test panels. When I do a hardware specific example search for NI-6251 nothing comes up. When I look at the example library does not even have any generic examples of Analog input but there is everything else. It is like it knows the examples I need and has erased them all LOL. Not sure if I did not load a library during the half day install process or what. Does the community version even have access to these examples? There are so many hardware specific VI's and different VI's for every version that you can't do much with Labview without hardware specific examples.

I'm guessing those examples come with the driver disc, which isn't included with LV Community Edition. Or are you saying you installed the relevant drivers and still no examples?
Thanks.

Well there is no mention of analog input in any of the examples. Analog input is the most basic and fundamental data acquisition parameter. Everything is based on voltage. Would the device drives not be part of NI-MAX?
How do I change my handle. It is just a bunch of random letters. Not sure I did that LOL. Where would I get the device drivers? The community version is useless without analog input examples.

You've to download device drivers from https://www.ni.com/en-us/support/downloads/drivers/download.ni-device-drivers.html#327643
Typically home users do not use the mainstream NI Hardware and hence CE would have removed bundling device drivers in the installation.

For the 6251, you just need DAQmx.

You need to edit your Alias on MyNI.
Just tap the menu (three lines top left right to the right of the NIlephant) select your account (the random letter Alias you have) then expand My Preference [which should be pluralized but isn't] and edit your Alias under My Information by clicking on the pencil glyph.
Then save of course.

Can't find any info on alias in the settings.

It's kind of hidden. When you are logged into the site while on this forum you see a round dot with a two letter code with the abbreviation of your name you signed up with left from the magnifier glass all the way on the top of the page. Hover over that and select "My Account".
There you'll find a pencil with next to it "Edit Profile". That's the one you want and will give you the option to change your alias.

It depends a bit on how wide the browser is Here are some screenshots

This just used up HD space. No other affect. So where are all the analog input examples? Can I uninstall all these useless device drivers? Still no analog input examples for any NI device.
