Configuring different digitizer models in master/slave

Running WinXP Home and Labview 7.0 Express.

I'm considering attempting a master/slave configuration with a 5112 and a 5122 that I have on the same motherboard so I can have four channels running simultaneously. Is this worth pursuing? Specifically, I'm wondering if there will be any sort of compromise in performance because of the different specs of the two models.

Also, is there anything special I need to do hardware-wise to get this running?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi RaySun,

You can synchronize the 5112 and 5122 cards by using the RTSI lines on the cards which will allow them to share the trigger in a master/slave configuration. Please looked at the niScope EX 5112 Synchronization. VI or NI Scope EX Multi-Device Configured Acquisition (TClk) VI examples. These examples (Start-> All Programs -> National Instruments-> NI SCOPE -> Examples -> LabVIEW) show how you can share the clock and route triggers to be shared by two digitizers through a RTSI cable. Please take a look at this example and its description (Right click on the VI icon at the top right corner of the front panel or block diagram and select VI Properties -> Documentation from the drop down menu).

Regards,
Natasa
