Connectivity Issues

Hello,

I have recently updated and reinstalled the latest version of LabView on my computer; however, now I am getting these two new errors. One is a comport error, meaning that LabView is not reading the comport - I am not sure if there are some additional libraries that i need to install or what should I do. The second one is a Registry error saying that the special keys were not created, but i thought LabView made those automatically.

any information would be useful! Thank you!

Judging from the error messages you still need to reinstall a driver or something so it can update the reinstalled  LabVIEW.

I suggest you look through your installed programs in the control panel (I am assuming Windows)  and see if there is anything previously installed that could even be remotely associated with the hardware your program controls, and repair the installation, if that's an option or reinstall it

Error 1 means that the ASRL port you specify in the VISA resource name does not exist or is not accessible. Are you sure your COM ports are all still at the same port number as before your reinstallation?

You didn’t mention the actual ini key you wanted to read but are you sure it exists when you check in regedit? And did you maybe reinstall the 64 bit version of LabVIEW while you previously used the 32 bit version? Many Windows registry paths are remapped by the registry manager when accessed by a 64 bit application.

Do you have any idea what type of driver I could be missing?

Did you reinstall NI-VISA after upgrading LabVIEW?

You may need the version of VISA that corresponds with the version of LabVIEW you are using
