Control DAQmx Create Channel (AO_voltage_basic).vi shows error 200099 Physical channel

Upon launching Labview 7.1 code to control a PCI 6229 card Labview software crashes.
Control DAQmx Create Channel (AO_voltage_basic).vi shows error 200099 Physical channel
not specified. I have tried connecting DAQmx Task name constant and DAQmx Global channel
constant with values DEV1/ao0 etc to physical channel of DAQmx Create Channel (AO_voltage_basic).vi
but without success.

This problem does not always manifest itself and sometimes the software launches correctly

How can I get my program to start all the time?

Hi,

Thanks for posting your query on the National Instruments forums. I have discovered that you have also posted the same query on another board.

I'm not entirely sure what may be the cause of the error that you have encountered but below are a few suggestions:
Have you tried using the suspected VI to be causing the issue in a different program / vi to see if it can properly recognises the physical channel?

Have you tried reinstalling the DAQmx driver? You can obtain the latest version from www.ni.com/downloads > click drivers and updates link.

Are you able to attach the VI to this discussion forum board, so that I can attempt to reproduce the issue?
Similar suggestions had been made at this discussion forum board: http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=170&message.id=105169&requireLogin=False

I hope this helps!

I am attaching the VI to this message. I am trying the suggestions that the other discussion had suggested at the moment.

Thanks.

Hi,

just wondering how you got on with the advice from Kirt??

Your code architecture is a loop with a case statement. If the start button is false, then you clear the task, thereby removing it from the valid tasks list in the driver is that correct? (You have it set to true on loading the vi).

I can load the vi fine, and don't see a blue screen so I don't think the vi is corrupt and therefore this should just be an installation issue.
If you could give us an update, that would be great.

Thanks
