Control USB Bluetooth Dongle

Hi, I need to send string to USB Bluetooth Dongle and I have install latest VISA 3.x to be able to use USB. And I have install VISA USB driver for the dongle. But when I go to Windows 2000 device manager, it shows there is error starting the Bluetooth dongle. What I don't understand is why I can't use the driver of the Bluetooth dongle instead I need to install VISA USB driver for it? I have use other USB softwares and they are able to see the Bluetooth dongle if I install it properly using its own driver. But Labview can't see it. Is there any solution for this? Thanks.

Dennis,

Sounds like the issue is both getting Windows Device Manager to see the dongle and for LabVIEW to see the device connected to the dongle, correct? In order for Windows to see the dongle the manufacturer's driver would need to be installed. In order to communicate with the device connected to the dongle in LabVIEW, NI-VISA needs to be installed. If Device Manager can't see the USB dongle then LabVIEW won't be able to either. The NI-VISA driver is required in order to establish communication with the device in LabVIEW. Hope this helps!
