Controls in a Type Def. Tab control indicator are skipped in tabbing order

How to reproduce this bug:

Create a Type Def. (or Strict Type Def.) of a Tab Control. Insert this type def. in a VI. Insert some controls in the tab control and some outside of it. Press Ctrl-M and test tabbing order (type Tab key several times). This shows expected behavior. (Ctrl-M again for edit mode.)

Change the type def. tab control to an indicator. Press Ctrl-M and test tabbing order. The controls in the tab control do not get focus.

Disconnect the tab control from the Type Def. The tabbing order is normal now.

This behavior is in LabVIEW 8.6 and LabVIEW 2009.

Workaround: Use a Type Def. Control instead of an indicator or do not use a Type Def.

Hi shb,

thank you for reporting this issue. I was able to reproduce the behaviour. I'm going to write a corrective action request (CAR) about this. Here you can report a problem or give Feedback to National Instruments.

Thank you again.
