I get the feeling that you started this thread as an excuse to babble inanely about things you are interested in. You haven't seriously tried to broach the topic of YOUR post. I'm sure there are plenty of forums that you can go on that are actually targeted to the type of people you want to prattle too. Why don't you spread your immense wisdom on them, or are you running out of forum's that your still allowed to post on? Smiley Happy

I have often appreciate reading Alfa's posts (yes I sense I am in the minority) becuase he makes me think. His posts seldom change my mind but they get me thinking about what I believe and why I believe it. I see no harm in questioning our beliefs and values from time to time. Ifeel if my thoughts and beliefs are valid they should withstand being tested occationally.

Take care,

Yes, Ben, you may be in the minority, but you are not alone.  I too enjoy reading Alfa's posts also because I like to read all views and beliefs.  I even follow his links.  I sense that those who are angered by Alfa either have no tolerance of different beliefs, or they are they feel threatened by other beliefs.  This is sad because here in America, eveyone should be free to speak without fear of reprocussion.

I have a great tolerance for other beliefs and don't feel threatened at all. I just don't believe his posts belong here. Isn't this thread what Breakpoint is for? Let him advertise his 'book' there.

Yes, Dennis, you are correct.  This sort of thing belongs in Breakpoint.  Alfa, will you kindly post your questionable material (non-Labview) to the Breakpoint forum.  We will still see it there.

I personally don't have a problem with listening to other peoples views and beliefs, in fact there is nothing i like doing more when socialising. I also like discussing sports and whats going on in the news, after several beers i normally ramble on about how much my son is growing and all the things he's starting to learn. I would not suggest though that the LabVIEW board becomes a place to do this. I have read Alfa's posts before and as i have stated previously it appears that he starts a post with a vague software problem merely as an excuse to start his own agenda. Even when people go out of there way to seriously answer his question his response is merely quotations and links. All i am saying is there is a place for him and i do not believe it is here. If we was all so tolerant before long we will have to be searching through posts of religion, black holes and sports updates to actually find topics on software. (i know im being a bit melodramatic but just trying to get my point across) Smiley Tongue

Just to strengthen my point, you will notice that on page 1 TST actually supplied some code in response to Alfas question, he recieved some Kudos for this, not one from Alfa as he rambled on for the next 2 pages not even re-visiting the topic of his question.
