I read, somewhere, that there are cannibals in Romania.  I wouldn't call it a "garbage country", however.  That's just not nice.

ZERO income this year again; my mother has 175$ /month pension.

Are here in Cluj Napoca companies Emerson, Nokia, Siemens...but the Americans, Germans, French.. hired communists managers, resonance between animals.

With just over a hundred pages left to read in "Atlas Shrugged" that posting has me thinking to tell the wife to bump up the food stock piles by another 6 months and does anyone have any good ideas on how to store 300 gallons of gasoline safely that does not involved a permit from the EPA?

I'm OK with a move to the Breakpoint since solving the "World's problems" is better handled over there.

"Atlas Shrugged" is one of the books I re-read every year (another one is the Bible).

To answer your question without answering your question: store ammo, barter for gasoline.

It looks like I may make it to NI Week this year. If you are there, I owe you a beer!

Ben,

maybe you need to get independend from gasoline/oil. Bicycle (swiss army model), photovoltaics or one of those old motors that can run on charcoal (then plant trees so you can make your own)(guess you can find them rotting in an old army depot).

Yes moving to deisel will be a step up since I could use vegetable oil as fuel but my budget curently limits me to a gasoline genrator capable of running my welder. Ideally I would switch to coal since the US Coal reserves are literally my son's backyard. But until I get a live steam plant up and operational, I have bridge the gap somehow.

(like I said, deffinate Breakpoint material).

Yeah, become independent of gasoline. Storing it for any length of time was always hard, now with the mandated ethanol added it is really bad, I have problems on my boat if I don't use it for a couple weeks. The "charcoal" cars are actually running on methane or its equivalent, so if you can have chickens and or cows, solves part of the food stock problem and maybe part of the fuel too! 😉
