Could I use two regular computer to achieve realtime communication using the Ethercat and Labview Real Time Module?

Could I use two regular computers (one acts master , another one acts as slave using the Ethercat Internet Card) to achieve realtime communication using the Ethercat and Labview Real Time Module? if it could, what hardware should I purchase from the NI ?

What is your definition of real-time? Are you referring to running quickly or do you mean deterministic timing? If you mean deterministic timing then you cannot achieve that using a standard OS like Windows.

Thanks For Answer.

Yes, I mean the deterministic timing. Could We transfrom the Windows in to a real-time Operation system and then RUN the Labview Application on the tranformed operation system?

I am not aware of any PC RTOS systems that support LabVIEW. Not only do you need to have a real-time OS but it also has to have LabVIEW support.

Most desktop PC's can be converted into an RT system.  There is lots of info on this if you search Google or NI's site for desktop PC conversion to RT systems.
