Hello,
I intend to measure a very small a.c current (<10mA ) of a high voltage system( over 10 kV) using NI 9253, which probe is appropriate? How can I go about it?

I recommend to talk first to your local HSE (health, safety, environment) engineer.
(After you have done so you may ask an electrical engineer for a transducer being able to convert small currents between high voltage and low voltage levels. You may also call local companies selling measurement devices, like Datatec in Germany.)

Have you considered low side current measurement?
The main problem you have is the high voltage is way over the maximum differential voltage to ground your instrument can safely handle.
So you can't use a simple current shunt and measure the voltage drop...
Or can you?
If you can place your current shunt on the ground side, the differential voltage to ground may not be an issue.
