DAQ Assistant will not open

Hello,

I am trying to communicate with a cDAQ, but just recently I go to place a DAQ assistant on my block diagram and it sits there and does nothing. I cannot change any of its properties. I am running LV2013, and have been using this computer and install for about 6 months without problems. I am not missing any critical updates. Does anybody have any ideas as to what the problem is? a screenshot is attached of what the DAQ looks like after I place it.

Thanks
Jake

What version of DAQmx do you have installed?  Did you install DAQmx AFTER installing LabVIEW?  What happens if you double-click the DAQ Assistant?

Was just going to say the same, I had this issue because I installed DAQmx first. Had to uninstall and do again, but if you say you've had it installed for the last 6 months and you have used it in that time, maybe check your licence agreement/expiry.

How do I check my license agrrement/expiry?

DAQmx is version 9.7.5f1

nothing happens when I double click on it.

I do not remember what order I installed them in, it should have been after labview though.

Just to be safe, I would reinstall DAQmx.  It might just be missing the LabVIEW support.  No need to uninstall just yet.

How can I launch DAQ Assistant even if I don't have a DAQ card installed yet in my PC? I have to create a program on a separate PC without DAQ then run it later on a PC with functional DAQ system.

Hi Jay,

simulate the DAQ device in MAX.

Even better: don't use the DAQAssistent. Use "standard" DAQmx functions instead!

Next time you should start your own thread instead of hijacking an old and unrelated one…

Best regards,
GerdW
