DAQ requirements

We are planning for an automated vehicle which detects its own track, avoid obstacles and take deviation at junctions. We prefer USB camera for sensing the path and plan to couple it via iMAQ to labVIEW.
The vehicle is a prototype that runs on dc motor (one or two) and have a stepper motor for shaft rotation.
Along with that, there will be some monitoring systems like temperature, fuel (both analog output) and seat belt and door lock check (both digital input). Also there will be a horn and indicators (digital outputs).
We are looking forward to keep the cost as low as possible.
Hope you got the situation and could help me out with suggestions.

You need to be more specific on the requirements (sampling rate, accuracy, resolution, range). For example, are your digital signals 24 V automotiv or can you go with 5 V? Safety requirement or just demo?

Low cost -> do you want DAQ that works without much else or are you able to do some soldering on your own?

Look at some of the low-cost USB DAQ devices if they fit your purpose.

You can get in touch with your local NI office. I am very sure they will be able to help you out with this.
