I am struggling to create an EXE file using Labview 8.0 software and a USB 6008 module. Can this be done? I want to distribute the EXE file to others running just the Labview 8.0 runtime engine.
Thanks
Tim

Ok......I wish this was documented somewhere!
When using the USB 6008.....Labview 8.0.....and creating distribution EXE files:
If your running Windows XP then the older version of NiDaqmx 8.XX works fine, however you can't use the NiDaQmx assistant in any of the VI's
The older versions of NiDaqmx do not work with Windows 7 or 8....Everything installs perfect....the driver installs....but the 6008 never shows up in the device list.
Solution: even though the documentation says that the new versions of NiDaqmx don't work with Labview 8.0 they work fine. You do have to install the 8.0 runtime engine and then no problem.
I spent countless hours figuring all this out...Once you install the wrong version of NiDaqmx.....you have to completely uninstall all the components for the new version to install properly.
I hope this helps someone else from throwing their computer out the window like I almost did!
