DAQPad1200 and LabVIEW 3

Hello

Really I have problem with my DAQ 1200. I have a Lab program on Labview 3 which works with DAQ 1200 parallel port. The PC is an old one with HD 500 MB and OS win 3.1

Now I have to use this system (Labview, DAQ 1200 parallel port) in new PC with new OS (does not matter which one 2000 or XP). I succeed to run Labview 3 in XP, put DAQ 1200 is still unknown by XP. Every time when I run my laboratory program in Labview there is error ((the DAQ device is unknown or the driver does not support it)).

Please can somebody tell me what I should do, or the best solution to make DAQ 1200 parallel port work with new OS and continue working with my Labview 3. I tried with win 2000, but by add new hardware I do not found DAQ 1200 to install it and by XP the same problem.

Thanks a lot

Wow, talk about trying to work with stone knives and bearskins.

Now that's just impressive. A little scary too.

The only thing I can suggest is to look over this article: DAQPad-1200 (Parallel Port) Installation under Windows XP.

You may want to consider whether it's really worth all this effort, as it may be cheaper for you to just get a modern USB DAQ device with a current version of LabVIEW.

Upgrade!   Your hardware and your LabVIEW version.

LabVIEW 3 is ancient.  Even newer versions of LabVIEW can't open LV3 files.

DAQpad 1200 is obsolete.

I really doubt there will be a combination of LabVIEW drivers that will work with LV3 and a newer version of Windows.

What version of traditional NI-DAQ drivers are you using?  Try version 6.9.0 which as far as I can tell is the first version to support Win2000.

Thank you very much for the response.

Yes it is cheaper if I upgrade the all system. But there is a complicated wire diagram in Labview program which was wrote to run machines in the Laboratory and DAQPad is connected with 50 Pins connection cable to the control panel. Also if I change the LabVIEW version I lose the program in it. But if I could find a version in which I can read the Labview 3 program with out any change it will be good.

good.

I tried this process the Installation of DAQPad in XP. At  add new hardware xp does not find this device. I think because xp does not support it.

I used NI-DAQ 4.6.1

The purpose of using new OS it is only to use a new PC with more saving capacity. It is important to me to use this system (LabVIEW 3 and DAQPad1200) in a PC with more saving space to run the machines and save the mess data. It is does not matter if I use the same OS win 3.1 but in new PC. Because currently PC in which win3 installed has only 500 MB and it is not enough to save the temporary data.

Thank you very much

It's not a simple process, but see this link

How to Upgrade or Revert a VI to a Different Version of LabVIEW

You would need a conversion module, then another version of LabVIEW between 6.0 and 8.2 in order to get to the latest LV version.

You should contact NI support directly to see if it's even still available.

But I see you've already asked this question. If you ask the question again in a new thread it's polite to indicate you've done this so people don't double-answer. Thank you.
