yep, went through all that months ago. I was disappointed that installing 2009 didn't fix it. However, it has to do with a very deeply nested corruption in MAX. As you probably know, to blow away MAX means to take all things NI off the machine and rebuild it, with no guarantee that it'll work. MSI blast (blah blah blah) isn't the answer either.

Update: It seems LabVIEW 2010 repairs this problem.
