DAQmx 8.8 not exporting channels

I am trying to backup my channel info from MAX, but all it will back up is device interfaces and software information.  The data neighborhood and scales do not show up for exporting.  I even tried check by product and it says DAQmx 8.8 0/0.  All my channels are working, but I want to back them up.

Hi Bryan,

I would first suggest you upgrade to NI-DAQmx 8.9 and see if this fixes the issue. 8.9 is a more stable build than 8.8 and should provide you with the option to save your scales, devices, and tasks.

I have my developer dvd's that I need copied onto a thumbdrive so I can upgrade or install when needed.  Is there a way of integrating DAQmx 8.9 into the developer dvd directory structure replacing the 8.8 version?  I would rather replace the old version rather than having both.

I would recommend keeping the DAQmx 8.9 folder separate, as it was not integrated directly into the installer in the first place. However, I will look into it further. What version of LabVIEW are these DVDs associated with?

The installer script that you run when installing your drivers is specifically intended to run the DAQmx 8.8 installer. However, moving from DAQmx 8.8 to DAQmx 8.9 is not a large step, and so the installer script may work for both. No guarantees, but you could probably replace the DAQmx 8.8 install files in the installer folder on your thumb drive with the DAQmx 8.9 install files. It looks like you'll have to give this a try to find out for sure though. As a vote of confidence, the installer should check for the necessary files first, so running the installer in this way should not cause an incomplete install. It should just give you an error when trying to install 8.9. Of course, no guarantees. Let us know how it works!

So, is there a BUG with DAQmx 8.8 where MAX will not export scales to the *.nce file? This is the behaviour I just witnessed when trying to export scales - it just isn't there - no option to save them. Is there an option to set with 8.8 to get this to work, or am I stuck with upgrading to 8.9. Why would this option be skipped in 8.8?

I upgraded to DAQmx 8.9, and MAX still does not export channels or scales. I did not have this problem with LV 8.5.1, just after upgrading to 8.6.1.

The machine I was having problems with was upgraded from 8.2 to 8.6.1.  I have not had a chance to upgrade max yet, so I have no idea if it works yet or not.

It works just fine for me with DAQmx 8.8 and MAX 4.5.
