Hi, Friends:

I am going to use a PCI-6251 card to acquire a pulsed analog signal. I have installed LabView 8.0 and DAQmx driver on my PC. I need to acquire a quite number of the pulsed signals and sum up and average them. Every event of the data acquisition needs to be triggered by an external analog signal. It will be highly appreciated if someone can tell me what steps I should follow to develop this application.

There are serveral example VIs that ship with LabVIEW that demonstrate how to setup analog triggering.

Open the Example Finder, "Help>Find Examples..". After it opens, go to the "Search" tab and enter the keyword, "triggering" and double click on the word in the bottom box and several examples will be displayed in the center box. Scan the list and see if one sounds close to what you want to do. Single click on an example will display a description, double click will open the VI. You can use these as a starting point, just be sure to save them with a different name so you have the example for future use.
