DSC Multiple Variable Editor does not accept regional decimal separator

Hallo all,

I have the following setup : DSC 8.5 , OS Win 2003 Server Italian version

I have a problem with decimal separator (comma in my region) when setting Resolution and Deadband values in Multiple Variable editor (Data Logging).

If I set the Resolution in the Shared Variables properties window I always get the correct comma decimal separator also if I press a dot on the keyboard.

When I open the same variable on in ther multiple variable editor I can see the value with the correct decimal separator (comma).

The problem appears when I set the values in the multiple variable editor: when I input a number like 0,01 I have the comma automatically changed in a dot (0,001 -> 0.01) .  If I go back on the properties window of that Shared Variable I find only a zero  (0).

It looks like these values set with the dot decimal separator are not correct because Resolution or Deadband functions fail to work.

In my understanding there is a bug in the Multiple Variable Editor that fail to use the regional decimal separator. And these not valid values lead to mulfunctioning in Resolutuion and Deadband mechanism.

Mayebe setting the OS to use only dot separator can help ?

thank you

I solved the problem in this way:

disable localized decimal point in LV ( Tools - Options - Front Panel - Use localized decimal point )

restart Shared Variable engine

reset all Resolution and Deadband values with dot as decimal point

deploy all variables

Still I think this is a bug and should be addressed.
