Has NI released the specifications for the Data Sockets
Transfere protocol? I would like to see what it's
doing without sniffing packets.

Brush up your nose, you're gonna need it.

You can try searching NI's website, or asking the engineers, but NI is very secretive with most of their software, so I very seriously doubt you will find the protocol anywhere.
