Darren's Weekly Nugget 02/20/2006

Searching for "Weekly Nugget" may not give complete results, because this particular one is a "Weekly Nuggest".  Robot tongue

Aww man!!!  Well, I typically commit approximately one typing error every three months...why did this one have to be in the subject line?!?  😛

Yep sorry,
I didn't know what to choose between "copy Darren's typing mistake" or correct it... Smiley Very Happy

By the way, this trick also works for Event Structures, if that makes it any easier to get into the habit.

Yes, that's the general message I was trying to convey when I wrote the sentence, "This trick also works on other multi-frame structures, like Event Structures."

Darren, I have tried to remember this over the past week with some measure of success, but I'm now wondering about one thing - it seems to get locked very often and then I have to release the ctrl button to see where I got to. The actual scrolling still seems to work, but the display only updates when I release ctrl.

This happens in 7.0 even with a simple VI which has only a T/F case structure with a simple constant inside but doesn't seem to happen in 6.1. Is this an already known problem? Is it happening in later versions as well?

Hi tst,

I have never seen this problem before.  I've certainly seen screen update issues in LabVIEW, but never with the Ctrl-scroll feature, and as I mentioned, I use this feature constantly.  I think I'll take the easy way out here and blame your video driver.  😉

I have to thank Ben for pointing out these nuggets to me, this one is going to save me some time!  I don't know why I didn't think of trying this on my own...

Check it out...I got the subject line fixed so it says "Nugget" instead of "Nuggest".  Now people who search for "nugget" will find this one too.  It helps to have connections on the inside.  Oh wait a minute, I'm on the inside.  🙂

But what will you do for those of us who search for the weekly Nougat? 😮
